The following is the four-step process for applying to the Seminary.
- Contact the Vocation Director to discuss your call and to assess the possibility of a priestly vocation.
- Participate in discernment events, including:
- Discernment Group
- Priesthood Discernment Retreat
- Andrew Dinner with parish priests or bishops
- Regular meetings with the Vocation Director and Spiritual Director
- Receive a formal assessment by the Vocation Office, including:
- Personal interviews by the assessment team
- Psychological examination, background reviews, health exams
The following documentation will be reviewed:
(a) Recommendations from employers, educators, or pastors.
(b) Baptismal and confirmation certificates.
(c) School transcripts, GRE testing, TOFEL (English as a second language). Plus, if necessary
- An interview with the Admissions Committee at St. John Seminary or, if a collegian, the Juan Diego House of Formation
- A complete background check and VIRTUS training
