Quo Vadis “Where are you going?” comes from the Christian tradition of Peter meeting the Risen Lord on the Appian Way. Peter asked Jesus this question and he responds, “I am going to Rome to be crucified again.” In hearing these words, Peter gains strength and courage and returns to do his ministry. He eventually experiences martyrdom through being crucified upside down.
